Hi there! My name is Sarah Hill.
I have been tutoring for ten years in a variety of subjects, but my passion is Language and English. I'm not your run-of-the-mill tutor—I truly care about my students, and I work to teach them holistic skills which will last them the rest of their lives. Please read on to learn more about my skill sets and teaching methodology!
Classes I Offer
Classes typically take place in-person at the student's house. I am very careful in taking Covid safety precautions. Parents are welcome to sit in, especially if they are new homeschoolers!
My first lesson is an assessment and as such it is completely free! Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions or special requests.
Reading Lessons
(Kindergarten, First Grade, and Remedial)
Although it depends on the student, I typically tutor reading for one hour at least three days a week. This will allow the student to progress quickly without any lag time in memory loss. I use a phonics method.

EFL Lessons
Classes take place one or two times a week, depending on the student's age and English speaking level. I use props, immersive techniques, and some good old grammar rules.

Writing Lessons
Classes typically take place once a week. We focus on topics of the student's preference, or cover general topics, practice writing, and even slip in a few games along the way. There is a large amount of reading in this class as well.

Classical Latin Lessons
This might not be a big draw for most people, but if, IF you are pursuing a classical education, have I found the geek for you! I teach Latin using a conversational method interspersed with grammar. Lessons last for an hour, typically two to three days a week. Textbook is required.

Biology Lessons
Biology lessons can occur once or twice a week, depending on your preference. I have a college background in marine biology and herpetology, but I love teaching it all! Textbook is required.

Biology Lessons
Sarah's an excellent teacher. She made a huge difference in the short time that she tutored my son Bio-20.
